Slope and rock are the first questions in this part of South Carolina. Many yards fall away from the house, which can add a retaining wall to the job, and buried rock can slow a dig and raise the price. Ask each builder how it reads your lot before it quotes, and how the plumbing and equipment are protected on freezing nights.
Think about financing and warranty while you compare. Deep Blue Pools, Majestic Pools and Outdoor Living, Fun Outdoor Living and Bull Mountain Outdoor Living offer financing, with lenders such as HFS Financial named on their websites. Deep Blue Pools, Majestic Pools and Outdoor Living, Hydra Hot Tubs & Pools and Imperial Pool & Spa attach warranties, so ask each one what the warranty covers: structure, finish, equipment and workmanship. Deep Blue Pools and Carolina Pool Renovations also remodel and resurface, so either can look after the pool after it is built.
Look at the track records next. Carolina Pool Renovations has worked in the area since 2009 and is rated 4.4 from 38 reviews. JG Outdoor Solutions is rated 4.8 from 75, Deep Blue Pools 4.6 from 56 and Majestic Pools and Outdoor Living 4.5 from 23.
Nine companies on the page did not say on their websites whether they build: Fun Outdoor Living, Hydra Hot Tubs & Pools, Imperial Pool & Spa, Bull Mountain Outdoor Living, ASP - America's Swimming Pool Company of Rock Hill and 4 more. Call and ask before you add them to your shortlist.
